UNFPA in partnership with the Ministry of ICT, Innovation and Youth Affairs launched the Kenya Ni Mimi youth campaign, a series of dialogues both online and offline, on the needs, challenges, and opportunities present for Kenyan youth. The campaign was launched through an in-person youth summit event and online digital campaign, in order to reach a wider youth audience.
The Kenya Ni Mimi Campaign is a dialogue for the youth as a key mechanism to fact find the different issues and progress youths from different counties in Kenya encounter. This youth platform is meant to bring about National and Social Cohesion, promote representation and participation of the youth in various spheres, promote the health and wellbeing of the youth; and sensitize the youth on the different government programs and funds available for them to start businesses and acquire skills in order to contribute to the socio-economic development of the country.
The Kenya Ni Mimi Youth Summit was held at the Bomas of Kenya, Nairobi. The main launch was officiated by His Excellency the President Uhuru Kenyatta. We were tasked to set up a communications unit for the launch and Livestream to the wider audience during the Covid 19 season. Our work was also to do a youth documentary on their expectations and roles in the campaign.
